- GA061-119 Ringfort - unclassified
Description
On a gentle E-facing slope in grassland. Circular rath (D 35m), in fair condition, defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter survives at N and SW. A wide gap (Wth 13.5m) at E may be an enlarged entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA061-120 Ringfort - rath
Description
In level grassland. On inspection in November 1984, this circular rath (D 42m), in fair condition, was defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.6m; int. H 0.7-1.1m; ext. H 1m) with internal stone-facing. The latter was best preserved from N to NE (H 1m) but survived only intermittently elsewhere. A band of nettles (Wth 3-4m) around the bank from SE through S to SW suggested the presence of an external fosse. On re-inspection in November 2001, the rath was levelled and a band of lighter grass (Wth 2.5-3m) indicated the outline of the bank from roughly W to S. A concrete platform for the storage of silage extended into the SW quadrant of the interior and a slatted shed had been constructed to the SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Revised by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 16 August 2023

Description
On a NE-facing slope in grassland. Very poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 38m, N-S 33m) defined by a bank at S, and elsewhere by a low scarp. Traces of an external fosse survive at NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA061-122 Ringfort - rath
Description
In the former demesne of Weston House and 80m NNE of an enclosure (GA061-003----), situated in a field known locally as the 'ring field'. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1915) as an oval enclosure (c. 45m by c. 40m) planted with trees. According to local information, the bank was levelled in the early 1960s to fill the fosse. In November 1984, the monument was defined only by a band of darker vegetation (Wth c. 3m) from S through W to N. There was a possible souterrain (GA061-122001-) within the interior. On re-inspection in October 2001, the ephemeral outline of the enclosure (43m E-W; 41m N-S) was still visible. In addition, the faint outline of a fosse and outer bank were evident from SSW to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Revised by: Olive Alcock Date of revised upload: 16 August 2023
- GA061-122001 Souterrain
Description
Within an enclosure (GA061-122----). According to local information, there was a partially collapsed 'cave' here which was destroyed and/or sealed during land clearance in the 1950s. A shallow depression (L 2m, Wth 1m), up to 0.3m in depth and running N-S, in S half of the interior may indicate its position. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
