Description
In rough rush-covered pasture, on a S-facing slope with views S over Sliabh Luachra. A roughly horseshoe-shaped mound (14m N-S; 10m E-W; H 1.6m) of burnt material with an opening (Wth 4.8m) facing E. It is highest at the S and is largely obscured by an overgrowth of bushes and briars, especially NE-SE. Burnt material is exposed intermittently from NW to N and at SW. Description
In pasture, built into S-facing slope. Well-built random rubble front wall (H 3.5m; Wth 4.5m) faces S. Central arched recess (H 1.6m; Wth 1.5m; D 1.6m) with sloping slabs to rear. Description
Road bridge (Wth 5.8m; long axis E-W) spanning a tributary of the Quagmire River. Built of random rubble with sides of abuttments of rusticated ashlar. Single segmental arch (span 3.7m) with cut-stone voussoirs. Concrete coping on parapets. N parapet has collapsed in places. Access path on E bank of river on N side of bridge.
