- KE021-014 Ringfort - rath
Description
Internal diameter 52.4m N-S, 53.4m E-W Lisnacourty/Lios na Cúirte (fort of the court). This circular univallate rath is situated in the corner of a large pastoral field which is gently sloping S. The enclosing well-defined earthen bank rises to a maximum of 3.2m above the external ground level. The interior is at a much lower level than the surrounding ground, and the enclosing bank rises to 6m-8m above the interior. There are three small mounds (KE021-014001-) in the interior, in the NE, SE and W sectors. According to local tradition souterrains run beneath this fort but have been closed up. Description

Description
A horseshoe-shaped mound situated in rough boggy land, it lies immediately S of a small pond. This site measures 8.9m N-S from crest to crest and 9m E-W, and rises to a maximum height of 1.3m above the surrounding land. A gap of 5m lies to the S; just inside this gap is a small depression measuring 1.6m x 2.3m. A smaller horseshoe-shaped mound (KE021-041001-) with its in-curve facing N lies immediately to the S. Its overall dimensions measure 6.5m x 5.5m and it rises to a height of .9m above the surrounding land. On the crest of the bank is a depression c 3m x 2m. The above description is derived from C. According to Toal (1995, 60, no. 78) 'A smaller horseshoe-shaped mound with its in-curve facing N lies immediately to the S [of KE021-041----]. Its overall dimensions measure 6.5m x 5.5m and it rises to a height of .9m above the surrounding land. On the crest of the bank is a depression c. 3m x 2m.' The above description is derived from C. Description
Internal diameter 27m N-S, 24.8m E-W This circular univallate rath is situated in a large pastoral field though very little now remains of it as the site has been ploughed. The enclosing bank is low and ranges from 7m-11m in width at the base. It rises to 1.4m above the surrounding land and 1.4m above the interior.
