  Description

  In pasture, on relatively level terrain. Depicted as a circular area (diam. c. 20m) enclosed by a bank on the 1st ed. (1841) OS 6-inch map. Not depicted on later OS map editions. • KE020-019 Burial ground
  Description

  This site, which is marked on the 1897 OS map as 'Tarmenerick' is reputed to be the burial place of St Erc. It is irregular in plan and is constructed of stone, now grassed over. The internal diameter measures 28m N-S and 18m E-W, and its maximum height above the surrounding land is 2.2m. There are two depressions in the interior. One in the W sector is oval in plan, measuring 6m x 1m x 6m deep, and SE of this is a circular depression measuring 8m N-S and .3m deep. Extending out of the SE sector is a bank, c 14m wide at the base, which runs SE for c 13m before being cut by a fieldbank running NE-S. Extending out from the SW end and running W for 9m, before turning S and extending for a further 10m, is a low, gently sloped bank. The above description is derived from C.   This circular enclosure appears on the 1841-42 OS map. On the later edition of 1898 it would appear to be enclosed on the W, S and E sides by fieldbanks.   Description

  Situated SW of KE021-002----, this circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps. This field has been ploughed several times and no visible trace survives today. • KE021-011 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Internal diameter 31m N-S, 30m E-W Lismaddra - Lios a' Mhadra (ringfort of the dog). This circular univallate rath is enclosed by a 7m wide earthen bank which rises to an average of 1.6m above the interior and 2.6m above the external fosse. The fosse encloses the whole site and is well defined and U-shaped: it is 2.5m-4.6m wide and c 1.5m deep. A fieldbank running NE-SW cuts through the fosse in two places, but it does not run through the interior of the fort. The entrance lies to the SE and is 4.6m wide. • KE021-012 Enclosure
  Description

  Internal diameter 17.5m E-W This site is situated immediately NE of KE021-011----. Marked on the 1841-42 OS map as a circular enclosure, on the 1898 edition it does not show up as clearly and would appear to be somewhat levelled. Today all that survives is a semi-circular earthen bank which is now much levelled. It is very low and wide, being on average 11m wide at the base and .7m-1.2m. high.   Description

  This stone has been moved from its original position westwards to a nearby fieldbank. It is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps as 'Gallaun'. According to the Kerry Field Club Notes (1943) there was a small hole about an inch in diameter at the base of the stone; this cannot be seen today. Markings which may be ogham are displayed on the E and W face. This granite standing stone rises to a height of 2.25m, .45m wide, .5m thick. It is thought to have marked a burial ground.
