  Owing/Óin: This site is marked on the first edition of the OS map as a circular enclosure. The OSNB noted that the area immediately surrounding the site was tilled and the 'cave' closed in (Templeno, 42). On the second edition the enclosure is marked 'site of’. There is now no trace of the enclosure or souterrain (KE092-021001-). The site was located a short distance W of a stream in an area of dense vegetation. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 648.   Description

  A circular enclosure is indicated at this location on the first edition of the OS map and is marked ‘site of’ on the second edition. It is described in the OSNB as an almost levelled 'fort' and a closed-up souterrain (KE092-022001-) (Templeno, 42). No trace of the enclosure is now apparent, and its location is occupied by the garden of a modern house. A small opening to a souterrain passage is located on each side of the garden's boundary wall.   In boggy ground, on the S slopes of Knockanaskill. This possible standing stone (Wth 0.6m; H 0.92m), which is orientated ENE-WSW and is lozenge-shaped in plan, was noted during the monitoring of a small housing development (Bennett 2000, 112).
