  Description

  A circular enclosure is marked at this location on the first edition of the OS map. It was situated on slightly elevated ground overlooking the Gaddagh river to E. There are now no visible remains, and the site has not been extant within living memory. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 797.   Description

  Liscallee/Lios Caillí (?): This rath, marked as a bivallate enclosure on the OS maps, was levelled in the early 1980s during land reclamation operations. Cooke recorded that it had a 'double rampart and deep ditch' and that there was a 'choked entrance to a souterrain (KE065-055001-) in its interior (1906, 5). It was located on a small hill overlooking the Gaddagh river to W. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
