• KE021-091 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Internal diameter 32.4m N-S, 37.6m E-W This univallate ringfort lies one field NE of KE021-092----. It is situated towards the corner of the field and a fieldbank runs to the N and W. This ringfort consists of a sub-circular area which is enclosed by an earth and stone bank. This bank is only visible from the NE through E to S; elsewhere the bank has been levelled and now appears as a 1m rise above the surrounding land. The enclosing bank rises to 2.5m above the interior and 3.3m above the external ground level. A 3m wide gap leads to the interior, which is at a higher level than the surrounding land. On the E interior side of the enclosing bank is a semi-circular stone-lined area, and in front of the incurve is a small mound of stones. This feature could suggest a hut site (KE021-091001-).   Description

  Univallate ringfort KE021-091---- lies one field NE of KE021-092----. It is situated towards the corner of the field and a fieldbank runs to the N and W.   Description

  Internal diameter 23.6m N-S, 23m E-W From its situation in a large pastoral field, the view from this site is excellent in all directions. This univallate rath consists of a circular area enclosed by an earthen bank. Slight traces of an exterior fosse can be noticed to the S to SW. The enclosing bank is 6m wide at the base; it rises to .8m-1.5m above the interior and on average 2m above the external ground level. • KE021-096 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Internal diameter 26.6m N-S, 27m E-W This univallate rath is situated in the corner of a field and is bound to the N to W by fieldbanks. It consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank, which has a steep exterior side. An exterior fosse can be noted N through W to SW. The enclosing bank is on average 8m wide at the base and rises to a maximum of 2m internally and 3.6m externally. The fosse is c 2.6m wide and c 1.7m deep.
