  Description

  In pasture, on a NW facing slope overlooking Kenmare Bay to the W. A rectangular area (22m N-S; 14m E-W) enclosed by recent field boundaries and wire fencing. The interior is heavily overgrown and littered with plant debris. Low burial mounds and a small number of low upright stones are perceptible under the debris. According to Dennehy (1997, 163), this burial ground 'has not been used for over one hundred years'. According to the landowner, it was 'a burial ground for unbaptised children and possibly adults' (ibid.). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). • KE093-103 Bridge
  Description

  Road bridge (long axis E-W) spanning the Sheen River close to the point where it enters Kenmare Bay. Built of random rubble. Five arches (span c. 5.5m) with roughly shaped voussoirs, carried on piers (Wth c. 1m). The central arch is semicircular and appears to have been extended by c. 3m to the N; two flanking segmental arches on either side. Four pointed cutwaters on upstream side rise to the height of the arches. Corbels at springing points under arches. Two segmental overflow arches on floodplain to the W and one to the E.   In a recently reclaimed field, on a NW-facing slope, overlooking Kenmare Sound to the N. This standing stone (1.6m x 0.8m; H 1.55m) is irregular in plan and is orientated N-S. (pers. comm.
