• KE084-009 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on an E-facing slope, on the NE extremity of a ridge overlooking the Cummeenboy stream. A raised circular area (23m E-W; 22m N-S) defined by a poorly preserved earthen bank. The bank (Wth 8.15m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H. 2.8m) survives best SSW-NW and intermittently elsewhere. Short stretches of it (Wth 7.65m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 4.2m) are evident NE-ESE where its external face slopes gradually downwards. The bank is in poor condition SE-S. There is an entrance (Wth 2m) at S. An outer fosse (Wth 2.2m; D 0.35m) is visible SW-NW. The interior is uneven and slopes gently down to the ESE and there is a souterrain (KE084-009001-) in the S half. • KE084-009001 Souterrain
  Description

  In a rath (KE084-009----). According to the landowner, there was an entrance to an underground passage in the S half of the rath. The landowner recalls stone steps leading down into a passage which was roofed with stone slabs. As a safety measure, the entrance was closed in the recent past. There are no visible remains of this souterrain. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.   Description

  In rough pasture, on an E-facing slope, on the W side of the Cummeenboy stream. This standing stone (0.8m x 0.3m; H 1.25m) is roughly rectangular in plan and section and is orientated NNW-SSE.
