  Description

  In a rath (KE058-061003-). Some loose stones are scattered in the interior of the rath but no obvious grave-markers are visible. The children's burial ground was recorded in the 1940s as 'simply the corner of a field with mounds and hollows all over it and a few rough stones uninscribed round about' (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club, 1941, vol. 1, 181). A church (KE058-061002-) is associated with this burial ground.   Description

  In a rath (KE058-061003-) and children's burial ground (KE058-061001-). This church is not visible at ground level. In the 1940s it was noted that 'ruins of a little church can still be seen in Timothy McCarthy's field' in Killeen (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). However, it was noted that there was 'no trace of the ancient church buildings' during a visit to the area in 1941 (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club, vol. 1, 184). • KE058-061003 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on an E-facing slope. A roughly D-shaped area (dims. 22m WSW-ENE) with a straight NNW-SSE side (L c. 22m), formed by an overgrown earthen field boundary, is enclosed elsewhere by a partially overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.1m). The ground outside this bank and the external face of the bank shows signs of disturbance. Cut scrub is dumped in the interior and along with a heavy cover of briars, gorse and bushes they make it impossible to examine the interior. According to local information, this rath is known locally as the 'fort' and the field is still called the 'fort field'. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) is indicated here on the 1846 OS 6-inch map on the E side of the field boundary. The interior was used as a children's burial ground (KE058-061001-) and there is the tradition of a church (KE058-061002-) here also.   Description

  In level pasture beside a steam. A scatter of burnt material is visible on the ground. According to local information, a mound of burnt material was levelled over an area (c. 10m N-S; c. 10m E-W) in the course of farm work.
