  Description

  In pasture, on a hillock. A circular area (28m N-S; c. 27m E-W) defined by a low flattened earthen bank (Wth 6m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.1m) mainly evident SE-N. Slight traces of a shallow intervening fosse and a low outer bank are evident along the S arc. The interior is level. The rath is visible as a shadow site in an aerial photograph (OSAP, 2119-20) with a possible linear field wall (KE066-107----) radiating from the NW arc. • KE067-034 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In level pasture, on top of a hillock. This possible rath is indicated as a roughly oval enclosure (c. 80m NW-SE; c. 70m NE-SW) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and as a roughly oval enclosure (c. 70m NW-SE; c. 60m NE-SW) on the 1893-4 OS 6-inch map. It is evident as an arc (C 56m WNW-NNE) of earthen bank (Wth 2.1m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2.1m) with a slight inward curve at NW and partially obscured by bushes. Traces of a stone wall are evident on top of the bank at N. A depression (c. 8m E-W; c. 6m N-S; D c. 0.3m) was noted near the internal face of the bank at N.   Description

  In the NW quadrant of a possible rath (KE067-034----). An irregularly shaped smooth-surfaced stone (0.22m x 0.15m) with incised linear markings of varying length on its surface. The lines appear to have been made by rubbing a sharp-edged or pointed object backwards and forwards across the stone.   Description

  In pasture, on a SE-facing slope with views S to Mangerton Mountain. An arc of earthen bank (Wth 5.95m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.55m) NW-SE abuts a linear field boundary at SW (L 22m), enclosing a semicircular area (dim. 16.5m NE-SW). The interior, in pasture, slopes down to the SE. The rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m), truncated by a NW-SE field boundary off centre to the NE, on the 1846 OS 6-inch map.   Description

  In pasture, on a SE-facing slope. A circular area (diam. 30m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.8m), best preserved along the S arc and with stone facing on its internal face along the SW arc. A break at SSE, which is blocked by a stone wall, may indicate the entrance. The interior slopes down gently to the SE and there are two standing stones (KE067-101001-, KE067-101002-) in the SE quadrant.
