The proposed Leixlip cable route section in KCC (shown in blue) is approximately 11.51 km in length crossing the townlands of Newtown, Confey, Leixlip, Kellystown, Sion, Ravensdale, Blakestown and Collinstown from east to west. There are two Protected Structures located within the application area of the Leixlip cable route, Deey Bridge and Lock (RPS B06-14) and Sandford Bridge (RPS B06-16). The proposed Moneycooley cable route is wholly within KCC (shown in orange) and is approximately 2.54 km in length crossing the townlands of Greenfield, Dowdstown and Railpark from south to north. The primary purpose of the proposed underground cables is to provide electrical power to the Dart+ West Railway project as granted under the DART+ West Railway Order (ACP Ref. 314232). The proposed underground cable routes will incorporate the following elements: - Communication links and fibre optic cables between all substations in the same trench as the UGC; Joint bays and communication chambers along the UGC alignment; Temporary construction laydown and work areas with ancillary staff facilities and parking, temporary access tracks, passing bays and water and utility crossings; - All associated and ancillary above and below ground site development works, including works comprising or relating to permanent and temporary construction and roadworks and excavation (including HDD) and vegetation clearance. An extension to plant and equipment associated with FAB 34 located on an existing/permitted concrete slab to the rear of FAB 34. The development also comprises a modification to the proposed Boiler and Chiller Building to facilitate this development reducing its enclosed area from 22,188 square metres to 19,208 square metres. 2. The proposed equipment comprises 9 no. holding and treatment tanks located in a sealed reinforced concrete bund sized 542 square metres approximately together with associated pumps, pipe bridges and equipment. The tanks vary in height from 5 metres to 9 metres approximately. 3. The permitted (ABP Ref. Pl. 09.304672-19 / KCC Reg. Ref. 1991) two storey Boiler and Chiller Building is reduced by 2,980 square metres approximately, including modifications to the existing elevations, relocated escape stairs and miscellaneous layout modifications. The height of the modified facility will match the existing building height at 24.5 metres. 4. The works also include modifications to site works, underground utilities, roof mounted equipment and site lighting and a louvred screen wall approximately 85 metres in length, as an extension to the existing 8.5-metre-high elevational screen located on top of the Boundary wall to the rear of the Boiler and Chiller Building. 5. Erection of 2 no. ground level, illuminated monument signs at the main east and west vehicular entrances to the site from the R148. Both signs are 1.5 metres high and 2.4 metres wide approximately. 6. Illumination (internally) of 1 no. replacement building sign to the south elevation of the IR6 Building. The sign is 1.4 metres high and 3.3 metres wide approximately and is mounted so that the top of the sign is approximately 0.5 metres below for the parapet level of IR6.
