Three-arch rubble stone road bridge over river, c.1780, with triangular cut-waters, rubble stone voussoirs, buttress to south-west and single-arch pedestrian underpass to south-east with cut-stone voussoirs. Rubble stone walls. Rubble stone triangular cut-waters. Cut-stone buttress to south-west. Rubble stone parapet wall with rubble stone coping. Four segmental arches (including pedestrian underpass to south-east). Rubble stone voussoirs (cut-stone to pedestrian underpass). Rubble stone soffits with render over. Replacement iron gate, c.1985, to pedestrian underpass. Sited spanning Slate River with grass bank to north-west and gravel tow path to bank to south-east.

Detached three-bay two-storey lock keeper’s house, c.1785, with single-bay single-storey lean-to return to rear to north-east. Refenestrated and extended, c.1950, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-footed recessed end bay to right (south-east) with single-bay single-storey gabled projecting porch added to centre. Gable-ended roof with slate (lean-to to return; gabled to porch). Clay ridge tiles. Rendered chimney stacks. Rendered coping to gables. Timber bargeboards to porch. Replacement uPVC rainwater goods, c.1990. Flat-roof to end bay. Materials not visible. Roughcast walls. Painted. Rendered walls to porch. Painted. Square-headed openings. Remains of detached single-bay two-storey gable-fronted rubble stone warehouse, c.1790, with outline of square-headed integral carriageway to ground floor and four-bay two-storey side elevations to north-west and to south-east. Now in ruins. Roof now gone (originally gable-ended/gable-fronted). Random rubble stone walls. Dressed stone quoins to corners. Outlines of square-headed openings (including integral carriageway to ground floor). Yellow brick dressings. Now blocked-up. Set back from road in own grounds with side (south-east) elevation fronting on to Grand Canal (Athy Branch).

Description
Detached thirteen-bay four-storey rubble stone malt house, c.1800, with four-bay four-storey advanced portion to north-east and two-bay four-storey side elevation to south-west. Now in ruins. Roof now gone (originally hipped gabled). Rubble stone walls. Dressed stone quoins to corners. Cut-stone course to eaves. Shallow segmental-headed openings (including door openings to each floor). No sills. Yellow brick dressings. Projecting stones to door openings forming platforms. Fittings now gone. Interior now in ruins. Timber panelled shutters to some window openings. Set back from road in own grounds.
