Since 1969 the field has been subdivided and the enclosure appears to be in the NE sector of a smaller field. Description
According to the OS Letters (1839), ‘There is a holy well called Lady’s Well in the Townland of Ballyda, much venerated still and frequented on the 15th of August by great numbers of devotees’ (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 1, 274 (92)). Description
On a rise at the edge of a small river valley which runs E-W immediately to the S, in pasture. A large roughly circular enclosure (overall diam. c. 100m; int. diam. c. 80m). There is a rectangular annexe (dims. c. 96m E-W; c. 25m N-S) adjoining the N perimeter, the pronounced fosse of which is visible on aerial photographs (GB89.S.20, 13 July 1989; ASIAP (47) 35-7, 11 August 1998; ASIAP (108) 32, 22 July 2000).
