  Attached six-bay double-height single-cell Gothic Revival Catholic church, built 1896-9, on a corner site with single-bay three-stage gabled tower to west on a square plan, and two-bay single-storey sacristy to south-east. Pitched slate roofs (gabled to tower) with decorative terracotta ridge tiles, cut-limestone coping to gables having cross finials to apexes, and square-profiled cast-iron rainwater goods on overhanging exposed timber eaves having Fleur-de-Lys brackets. Broken coursed rock-faced cut-limestone walls with limestone ashlar dressings including quoins to corners, buttresses to nave, stepped clasping corner buttresses having gabled pinnacles with cross finials to apexes, full-height engaged octagonal piers to north having panelled stage with decorative course supporting elongated polygonal spirelets, and chamfered stringcourse to top (bell) stage to tower. Paired pointed-arch window openings to nave with cut-limestone chamfered sills, shared cut-limestone block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals, and fixed-pane fittings having leaded stained glass panels. Tiered square- (bottom) and trefoil-headed (top) window openings to outer bays to north with cut-limestone sills, cut-limestone block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals, date stone ("1898") intermediary panels, hood mouldings over, and fixed-pane fittings having leaded stained glass panels. Pointed-arch window opening to north on cut-limestone sill course with cut-limestone block-and-start surround having moulded reveals, hood moulding over, mullions and tracery forming five-part trefoil-headed arrangement having trefoil and octafoil lights to arch, and fixed-pane fittings having leaded stained glass panels. Square-headed slit-style apertures to second stage to tower with cut-limestone surrounds having chamfered reveals, and fixed-pane fittings having leaded stained glass panels. Paired trefoil-headed openings to top (bell) stage to tower (trefoil window openings over to gables) with cut-limestone block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals, and louvered panel fittings (cut-limestone surrounds to gables having chamfered reveals, and fixed-pane fittings). Square-headed door opening to north in pointed-arch frame approached by three cut-stone steps with cut-limestone block-and-start surround having clustered colonette reveals with foliate capitals, hood moulding over on foliate consoles, tongue-and-groove timber panelled double doors having iron hinges, and decorative overpanel incorporating pierced quatrefoil panel. Full-height interior open into roof with glazed timber panelled internal porch, decorative tiled floor, timber pews, tongue-and-groove timber panelled wainscoting, open work timber gallery to first floor to west, Gothic-style altar furniture, and open timber roof construction on cut-stone corbels. Set back from line of road on a corner site in shared grounds with painted rendered boundary wall to perimeter of site having decorative iron railings over, painted rendered chamfered piers having profiled capping, and decorative iron gates.

  Detached seven-bay three-storey convent with dormer attic, built 1886, on an elongated T-shaped plan with single-bay single-storey gabled advanced porch to centre ground floor, two-bay three-storey side elevations, and ten-bay three-storey return to east. Mostly refenestrated, post-2001. Pitched slate roofs on a T-shaped plan (gabled to porch) with decorative terracotta ridge tiles, yellow brick Running bond chimney stacks, cut-limestone coping to gables (having cross finial to apex to porch), rooflights to return, and cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-limestone eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls to front (south-west) elevation (including to porch) with cut-limestone quoins to corners, and unpainted roughcast walls to remainder having cut-limestone quoins to corners. Square-headed window openings (paired camber-headed window openings to ground floor front (south-west) elevation; pointed-arch window openings to ground floor return) with cut-limestone sills, rendered surrounds having chamfered reveals, and one-over-one timber sash windows (fixed-pane fittings to left first floor having leaded stained glass panels) having replacement uPVC casement windows, post-2001, to return. Paired trefoil-headed window openings to centre first floor in painted rendered pointed-arch frame with cut-limestone sill, plaque to arch in round recess, hood moulding over, and fixed-pane fittings having leaded stained glass panels. Pointed-arch door opening with cut-stone step, cut-limestone block-and-start surround having chamfered reveals, hood moulding over, and timber panelled double doors having overlight. Interior with carved timber architraves to door openings having timber panelled doors, timber panelled shutters to window openings, decorative tiled floor to corridor to return having series of round-headed relieving arches with moulded reveals, and plasterwork cornices to ceilings. Set back from road in own grounds with landscaped grounds to site.

  Detached three-bay two-storey over part-raised basement house, c.1850, with single-bay full-height gabled advanced central bay having single-bay single-storey gabled breakfront, single-bay two-storey side elevations having canted bay window to ground floor side (west) elevation, and single-bay two-storey return to south. Now in use as offices. Pitched slate roofs (gabled to central bay and to breakfront; gablets to window openings to first floor), with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks on axis with ridge, cut-limestone coping to breakfront, timber bargeboards to gables, and cast-iron rainwater goods on overhanging eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills on consoles, rendered surrounds having chamfered reveals, and timber casement windows having some one-over-one timber sash windows to first floor. Square-headed door opening under hipped slate canopy having timber pillars on two steps, rendered surround to door opening having hood moulding over, and timber panelled door having round-headed flanking niches. Set back from road in grounds shared with Saint Camillus's Convent.

  Gateway, dated 1782, comprising Tudor-headed carriageway with tooled limestone ashlar piers having chamfered reveals, hood moulding over, iron double gates, cut-stone date stones/plaques, stringcourse supporting battlement parapet having octagonal corner finials with moulded capping, broken coursed cut-limestone flanking screen walls incorporating square-headed pedestrian gateway to left with cut-limestone surround having chamfered reveals, squared limestone voussoirs over forming camber relieving arch, stringcourse supporting battlemented parapet, coursed cut-limestone curved flanking walls having tooled limestone ashlar piers with cross apertures, battlemented capping, and random rubble limestone boundary wall to perimeter of site having stringcourse supporting battlemented parapet. Reconstructed on site, 1941. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Saint Kieran's College.

  Detached nineteen-bay two-storey over part-raised basement Tudor Revival college (seminary), established 1836, comprising single-bay (four-bay deep) double-height projecting central chapel with nine-bay two-storey recessed flanking lateral wings (east wing completed, 1838; west wing completed, 1839) having single-bay two-storey gabled projecting central bays with canted oriel windows to first floor, and nine-bay three-storey over raised basement rear (north) elevations. Renovated and extended, 1875, comprising single-bay two-storey gabled projecting terminating block with attic to right (east) having two-storey canted bay window, five-bay two-storey side elevations, and series of elliptical-headed openings added to lateral wings forming arcade flanking projecting bays. Completed, 1955, comprising single-bay two-storey over part-raised basement gabled projecting terminating block with half-dormer attic to left (west) having three-stage canted bay window, and six-bay four-storey side (west) elevation. Pitched slate roofs (gabled to projecting bays and to terminating blocks; gablets to window openings to first floor to lateral wings in form of half-dormer attic windows) with clay ridge tiles, cut-limestone chimney stacks (having grouped (five-part arrangement) chamfered flues to lateral wings), cut-limestone coping to gables having cross finials to apexes, and cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-limestone eaves. Coursed tooled cut-limestone walls with limestone ashlar dressings including (chapel) engaged octagonal corner turrets having gabled buttresses to ground floor, moulded course to first floor, panelled frieze on corbel table, open work stage having profiled ogee domes over with finials to apexes, and battlemented parapet having decorative gabled panelled finial to apex; (lateral wings) diagonal clasping stepped gabled buttresses to projecting bays, stepped gabled buttresses to arcade rising through battlemented parapets as finials, and cut-stone coping to gables having finials to apexes; (terminating block east) full-height octagonal corner piers having profiled stage supporting pointed-arch-panelled pinnacles with crocketed ogee finials, trefoil-headed recesses on moulded plinths having decorative consoles, crocketed capping, and crocketed coping to gables having cross finial to apex; (terminating block west) full-height octagonal corner piers having profiled stage supporting pointed-arch-panelled pinnacles with crocketed ogee finials, and crocketed coping to gables having cross finial to apex. Pitched slate roofs with decorative clay ridge tiles (decorative iron ridges to tower), rendered chimney stacks having cut-limestone chamfered coping, cut-limestone coping to gables having cross finials to apexes, and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded cut-stone eaves (on limestone ashlar eaves to tower having consoles forming console table). Unpainted fine roughcast walls with unpainted rendered dressings including stepped buttresses (clasping to corners leading to quoins to corners) having cut-limestone coping, moulded stringcourses to each floor, quatrefoil panel to gable in round recess having rendered surround with hood moulding over, limestone ashlar walls to top (bell) stage to tower on chamfered course having advanced corner piers, and cast-iron clock faces to gables having carved limestone surrounds. Pitched slate roof (gabled to breakfront) with decorative clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks having cut-limestone chamfered coping, cut-stone coping to gable having cross finial to apex, and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded cut-limestone eaves. Lean-to slate roof to projecting range with fixed-pane rooflights in iron frame, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Unpainted roughcast walls with rendered quoins to corners, and quatrefoil date stone panel to gable in round recess having rendered surround with hood moulding over. Camber-headed window openings to first floor with square-headed window openings to top floor having cut-limestone sills, and three-over-three timber sash windows having overlights. Square-headed openings to projecting range with cut-limestone sills, fixed-pane timber windows having overlights, and glazed timber panelled doors on cut-limestone steps having overlights.
