Description
An oval-shaped area (dim. 30m N-S) defined by a bank (Wth c. 4m, int. H c. 0.35m, ext. H c. 1.5m), except from NE-E, and a shallow external fosse (Wth c. 7m, ext. D c. 1m). No evidence of original entrance. Reference to a rath here (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 1, 301). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
