  Description

  Marked on the 1840 and 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch map; a subcircular area (max. dims. c. 30m E-W, 25m N-S). The site was levelled in 1968 (OPW file). No visible surface remains but the site is clearly visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (GSI, S 76-7). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.   Description

  Marked on the 1841 and 1908 editions of the OS 6-inch maps; a subcircular enclosure (max. diam. c. 50m N-S). No visible surface remains. Aerial photograph (GB90.CN.13) shows a subcircular enclosure defined by a fosse and with a curvilinear annexe extending to the north-west. The newly recorded annexe extends into the adjacent field to the north-west. The above aerial report has been compiled by Dr. G.F. Barrett and supplied to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland.
