  Description

  Described as an oval enclosure (dims. c. 75m NW0SE; 54m NE-SW) defined by a bank (max. H c. 1.5m) with evidence of an external fosse at N (OPW file). No visible surface remains. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.   Detached five-bay three-storey over part basement house, c.1740, with pedimented breakfront. Interior with double-height hall having two cantilevered galleries. Stable complex to site.
