• LE015-146 Ringfort - unclassified
  Description

  Situated on a level plateau in a low-lying landscape of rough pasture with a S-N stream c. 100m to the W. A small circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 20-25m) is indicated on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No feature is visible at ground level in an area that appears never to have been reclaimed. It is now planted within a forest (Bing 2013). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003).   Description

  Located at the E tip of an E-W ridge. It is indicated only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure planted with trees. This is a circular area (diam. 30m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.7m). It is planted with mature deciduous trees.   Description

  Situated on a steep SE-facing slope. It is indicated only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular feature planted with trees. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 46m E-W; 45m N-S) defined by a earthen bank, which survives best at N (Wth 3m;H 0.8m). It is planted with mature deciduous trees and the remnants of a WSW-ENE roadway from a house that was called Glasdrumman House c. 200m to the SW run through the interior, The tree-ring (LE015-148----) is c. 75m to the NW.   Description

  Located on top of a small drumlin and within view of Glasdrumman House, c. 170m to the NE. It is indicated as an enclosure planted with trees only the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is a circular enclosure (diam. 31m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.5m; int. H 0.3m) and a slight external fosse (Wth of top 1.5-2.2m; ext. D 0.2-0.3m).   Description

  Situated towards the top of the N-facing slope of a drumlin and within view of Glassdrumman House, c. 300m to the NNW. It is indicated as an enclosure planted with trees only the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is a circular area (diam. 56m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1m). It is divided pie-wise into three by field banks that extend from the centre beyond the perimeter to the NW, NE and SSE.   Description

  Detached five-bay two-storey with attic farmhouse, built c.1760, with outbuildings to rear yard. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Profiled gutters supported by bracketed eaves course. Rendered walls with lined-and-ruled detail. Timber sash windows with tooled stone sills. Replacement casement windows to rear elevation. Round-headed door opening with replacement timber panelled door and painted glass fanlight. Rear yard enclosed by sweeping wall with niches, pointed-arched door opening and circular gate piers and cornice. Ruined multiple-bay two-storey outbuilding to west of house with random coursed walls. Tooled stone sills to window openings. Stone lintels to window and door openings. Post and lintel opening to coach house. Single-storey range of outbuildings to north of house.
