• LE025-067 Stone row
  Description

  Located in pasture on the summit of a N-S ridge of rock outcrop. Three conglomerate slabs form a row (L c. 14m) which is roughly aligned N-S. The N (L 4m; max. Wth 2m; T 0.4m) and central (L 4.4m; max. Wth 1.4m; T 0.3m) stones are now recumbent, but the S stone (dims 0.9m x 0.25m; H 0.85m) is still standing and aligned N-S. The stones have rough points, and the central one has a rough tenon at its base. If they were all upright, and they are thought locally to have been standing until c. 1910 (SMR file), the space between the N and central stones would be c. 2.6m, and between the central and S stone would be c. 8m. • LE025-068001 Ringfort - unclassified
  Description

  Situated at the W edge of a N-S ridge of rock outcrop. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 25.2m N-S; 24.8m E-W; int. diam. 21.5m N-S; 21m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3-5m; int. H 0.5-0.8m) NW-E-SW, which might conceal the base of a stone wall. This is separated by a berm (at E: Wth 3m) from an outer bank (at E: Wth 3m; H 0.2-0.4m) and intermittent traces of an outer fosse (at E: Wth of top 6.4m; Wth of base 3m; D 0.2m) N-E-S. The perimeter on the line of the inner bank is defined by a cliff (H c. 4m) SSW-N. There is an entrance (Wth 1.4m) through the inner bank at SE.   Description

  Listed as standing stone possible in the SMR for Co. Leitrim (1988) as there was a reference to a possible standing stone ' 6 feet long' (Blaney 1944, No. 123) just S of the ringfort (LE025-068001-).   Description

  Located on a N-S ridge of rock outcrop. A conglomerate slab (L 3.6m; Wth 0.6-1.15m; T 0.15m plus) which was upright within living memory and has a feature like a tenon at its base now lies prone and broken in two at the entrance to a farmyard.
