  Description

  In pasture, on slight S-facing slope. Circular area (25m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.25m) with external fosse (D 0.3m; Wth 1.2m). Gap (Wth 1.2m) in bank at ESE probably caused by cattle accessing interior; much of bank heavily eroded by cattle. Interior level and under rough grazing.   Description

  In pasture, on the desioned landscape of Odell Ville House located 170m to the N. D epicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 30m) defined by a scarp with interior planted with trees. Site indicated with a grove of trees on 1897 ed. OSi 25 inch map, possibly indicating the site of a tree-ring. Monument visible as an oval-shaped area overgrown with trees on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-12 and Google Earth orthoimages. Doubtful antiquity possible demesne landscape feature, or could be the remains of a ringfort reused as a tree-ring associated with Odell Ville House. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.   In flat low-lying area of reclaimed pasture. No visible surface trace of site depicted as trapezoidal enclosure (c. 40m N-S; c. 50m E-W) on 1841 OS 6-inch map.   Description

  Detached five-bay two-storey over basement house, built c. 1780, with later two-storey extension to rear (south). Hipped tiled roof with rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with roughly dressed limestone walls exposed in places. Diminishing square-headed window openings having tooled limestone sills and one-over-on pane timber sliding sash windows, with timber casement replacements to basement. Square-headed door opening with overlight and timber panelled door to front (north) elevation, flanked by square-headed side lights with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows, having cut limestone stepped approach. Three-bay single-storey gate lodge with extensions to west, having hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystack. Coursed stone walls with square-headed window openings, tooled limestone sills and uPVC casement windows. Square-headed door openings with uPVC doors. Located within own grounds, having rendered square-profile gate piers with wrought-iron gate.
