  Description

  In flat undulating pasture 110m N of the townland boundary with Rathkeale Commons. Located 265m NNE of a ringfort (LI029-037----). The site is depicted as an oval-shaped field (ext. diam. c. 25m N-S; 22m E-W) and not as an antiquity on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. It is not depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map or subsequent maps. A small portion of the W side of the enclosure boundary may be preserved in a surviving field boundary visible on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. • LI029-034 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope, immediately to N of farmyard. Circular area (26m N-S) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank NW->SW but truncated SW->NW by dry-stone field boundary travelling N-S (interior now 21.5m E-W). Bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.3m), heavily masked by overgrowth, becomes quite linear NW->NNE. Gap in bank (Wth 3.2m) at SSE. Interior, covered with thistles, slopes down to SW. Just N of centre are six metal uprights, embedded in concrete, which formerly were part of a hay barn. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

  Description

  In pasture, on E edge of break in E-facing slope. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been partially levelled. Curved section of earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.7m) remains NW->NE. Bank, covered with mature bushes, is truncated S->NW by field boundary travelling on N-S axis.
