In pasture, on NE-facing slope immediately below brow of low hill. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, is now contained within fenced-off area which is covered by coniferous trees with dense impenetrable undergrowth of briars and scrub. Description
In pasture, atop low hill. Semicircular area (30.5m N-S; 19.5m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 1.7m; Wth 7.4m) NNW->SSE. A field boundary, which formerly bisected enclosure has been removed and is now replaced by wire fence; no trace of enclosure evident of W side fence. Scarp lowers NNW->NNE (H 0.4m; Wth 4m) and SE->SSE (H 0.15m; Wth 2m). Level interior, under pasture, contains two mature deciduous trees in NW quadrant. Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1810, having gabled porch to west (front) elevation. Hipped slate roof with red brick chimneystacks. Rubble stone walls having dressed limestone quoins. Square-headed openings having render surrounds, red brick voussoirs and surrounds and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed opening to west of porch with red brick voussoirs and surround and timber sliding sash window. Square-headed opening to north elevation of porch with render surround and timber panelled door. Pair of square-profile piers flanking double-leaf gate to west of house.
