  Description

  In pasture 180m SE of enclosure (LI023-058----). Not depicted on the OS maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 22; AP 4/3665) as circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 30m) defined by a scarp. Upstanding monument (approx. ext. diam. 34m) clearly visible as a circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 18m) enclosed by a fosse and outer bank on OSi orthoimage. Pond immediately to NNE and a second pond to SSE. Cropmark of levelled monument visible on Google Earth orthoimage dated 25/05/2017. Same site as LI024-177----. • LI024-179001 Barrow - unclassified
  Description

  In reclaimed pasture, 87m W of a stream that marks townland boundary with Boherroe and 174m E of stream that marks townland boundary with Ballyphilip. Ring-barrow (LI024-179003-) lies 27m to S and linear earthworks (LI024-179002-) lie 80m to SE. Not depicted on OS historical mapping. Identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 23(01); AP 4/3665) as a small circular cropmark of a possible ring-barrow. Cropmark of a roughly circular shaped feature is visible on OSi orthophoto taken 2005-2012. Possibly the outline of a small pond or quarry feature rather than a prehistoric ring-barrow. Faint trace of feature visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/07/2017. On this map a series of linear features run out to E from n side of feature. These may be the remains of field drainage channels feeding in to an old watercourse running N-S in E side of field. Identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 23(02); AP 4/3665) as linear earthworks. Faint trace of features visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/07/2017. These may be the remains of post-1700 field drainage channels feeding in to an old watercourse running N-S along E side of field. Identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 24; AP 4/3665) as a small circular cropmark of a possible ring-barrow. Cropmark is not visible on OSi orthophoto taken 2005-12. Possible trace of cropmark on the Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Cropmark on Bruff Survey image unconvincing evidence for the presence of a ring-barrow at this location.
