Description
In scrubland, on an elevated limestone outcrop overlooking a marshy area to the N. The area had recently been burnt to clear the scrub. No visible surface trace of the 'cist' is now evident. Description
In rough pasture, in natural depression with higher ground to E and W. Monument, depicted on 1841 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m), has been levelled. - LI011-029 Ritual site - holy well
Description
In woodland, on S verge of pond. Sub-circular well (2.5m N-S, 3m E-W) enclosed by dry-stone wall (H 0.42m; Wth 0.8m). Gap in wall (Wth 0.5m) at WNW forms entrance, leading down to well via 2 stone steps. Partially stone-lined channel drains well at NE. Well dry at time of visit. By 1840 rounds were only occasionally made here (OSL vol. 1, 21) and had ceased completely by 1950s (Ó Danachair 1955, 212); rounds were made on the 15th August (ibid.). Description
In pasture, on an ENE-facing slope, immediately N of a farm passageway. A sub-circular rise (H 0.2m; 7m N-S; 5.5m E-W) covered with lightly-coloured grass is, according to the landowner, composed of burnt material which is clearly evident when the field is ploughed.
