Description
On a gentle SE-facing slope in pasture. Described in 1986 (SMR file) as a raised subcircular area (c. 35m NW-SE; c. 32m NE-SW) enclosed by two low banks of earth and stone and two shallow fosses. A modern field wall cut across the line of the outer bank at ENE. The outermost fosse was identifiable only at N and NE. The original entrance may have been at NE. Description
Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c. 1885. Comprising banded shaft, moulded spout, fluted cap with finial over, and with curved pumping arm. Set on concrete base in rectangular enclosure with rendered boundary walls, open to road-frontage to the northeast. Located adjacent to road in the rural landscape to the southeast of Lanesborough.
