• LF009-031 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a low rise in otherwise level, poorly drained pasture. A report in 1976 (SMR file) indicates that this raised oval area (41m N-S; 36m E-W) was enclosed by two low banks of earth and stone and two fosses. It is defined by a scarp (H 1-1.3m) at the base of which is a shallow fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.4-0.6m). The outer bank and outer fosse have since been levelled. The original entrance is not recognisable.   Description

  On the SE slope of a low ridge in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and cut by a NE-SW running trackway at ENE and WSW. • LF014-016 Enclosure
  Description

  On a WSW-facing slope in pasture. Depicted as an irregularly shaped enclosure with the designation ‘Fort’ on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a circular enclosure on the 1914 edition. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a circular area (diam. c. 46m) enclosed by a wide low earthen bank that was partially levelled at SE. The interior was unusual in that its level dropped from the bank to a broad regular depression in the centre. The monument is not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F.
