  Description

  The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Turf-digging operations revealed a layer of flat stones forming a paved area (Wth c. 10m) on original ground surface below bottom layer of turf (D c. 1m). • LH013-032 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Located on a hillock in an undulating landscape. A semi-circular wood is depicted on the historical maps. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on Google Earth (12/07/2013). It is also visible on Map Genie (1999-2003), and was first identified by Tom Condit. • LH013-033 Enclosure
  Description

  Located on the summit of a broad hill. The cropmark of an oval enclosure (dims c. 40m E-W; c. 25m N-S) defined by a wide fosse feature (Wth c. 3-5m) is visible on Google Earth (29/06/2018). It would have been in view of Rogerstown House, which was c. 250m to the W, and it may have been a tree-ring. It was first reported by Anthony Murphy. • LH013-034 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Located on a gentle SW-facing slope. The faint cropmark of a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55-60m) defined by a fosse feature is visible on Google Earth (29/06/2018). An inner fosse feature is intermittently visible SE-W suggesting it had an earthen bank (Wth c. 4m). It was probably a rath although the old Rogerstown House was c. 150m to the NW and the enclosure (LH013-033----) is c. 150m to the NE. It was first reported by Anthony Murphy.   Situated in a slight fold on a gently undulating landscape.
