Description
In lowlying pasture, located on a slight N–S rise. The shoreline of Lough Conn is 100m to W. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 25-30m), with an E–W field fence immediately outside the bank at S, and on the 1930 edition as a D-shaped enclosure (c. 30-35m N-S; c. 30m E-W) bordered on the straight side at S by a field boundary. Description
In partly reclaimed pasture, on the W margin of a strip of wet ground. Low, roughly circular, sod-covered mound (diam. c. 12m; H 0.4m) of stone fragments in a matrix of black, charcoal-rich soil. A slight depression on the E side may indicate the position of the trough. Another fulacht fia (MA039-125----) is located c. 65m to S, and there is an enclosure (MA039-085----) 40m to SW. Description
On the margins of an expanse of wet pasture, with slightly raised ground 10m to W. Low, sod-covered mound (c. 10.5m E-W; 13m N-S; H 0.4m) of stone fragments in a matrix of black, charcoal-rich soil. The W-SW side of the mound has a shallower, more gradual slope. Another fulacht fia (MA039-124----) is located c. 70m to N, and there is an enclosure (MA039-085----).
