  Description

  In rough pasture, dotted with clumps of ferns, yellow flag and willow scrub. Located in the narrow valley of the meandering, W-flowing Dalgan River, 10m N of the river on a strip of level ground, with the rising slope of the valley a few meters to N of the mound. There are relatively open views along the river course to E, but willow scrub restricts views to W. A low, compact grass-covered kidney-shaped mound (9m E−W; 6m N−S; H 0.5m) composed of stone fragments in charcoal-rich soil. The shallow C-shaped indentation or hollow (2.6m E−W; 2m N−S) on the N side between the ‘arms’ of the mound probably indicates the location of a trough.   Attached five-bay two-storey bank, designed 1921; built 1922-3; opened 1923, on a symmetrical plan with single-bay full-height advanced end bays. Refenestrated, ----. Pitched slate roof behind parapet with clay ridge tiles, and concealed rainwater goods retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Rendered channelled walls (ground floor) on rendered chamfered plinth with rendered stringcourse; rendered, ruled and lined surface finish (first floor) with rusticated rendered piers to corners supporting "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed cornice on blind frieze on entablature below parapet having "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed coping. Round-headed central window openings (ground floor) with cut-limestone sills, and channelled voussoirs framing replacement uPVC fittings replacing fixed-pane timber fittings. Round-headed door openings (end bays) with channelled voussoirs framing infill (north) or timber panelled double doors having overlight (south). Square-headed window openings (first floor) with "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed sill course on panelled risers, and moulded rendered surrounds framing replacement uPVC casement windows replacing one-over-one timber sash windows. Street fronted with stone flagged footpath to front.

  Description

  Terraced five-bay three-storey house, extant 1893, with shopfront to right ground floor. Refenestrated. Pitched slate roof with roll moulded clay ridge tiles terminating in rendered chimney stacks centred on rendered chimney stack having "Cavetto" stringcourse below capping supporting yellow terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron square profile downpipe. Rendered channelled wall (ground floor) with moulded rendered cornice on blind frieze; rendered surface finish (upper floors) with rusticated rendered piers to ends. Timber shopfront to right ground floor on a symmetrical plan with glazed timber panelled double doors. Square-headed window openings (upper floors) with rendered sill course (first floor) or rendered sills (top floor), and rendered block-and-start surrounds framing replacement uPVC casement windows replacing one-over-one timber sash windows. Interior including (upper floors): timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors with timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters. Street fronted with stone flagged footpath to front.
