Description
Situated on a rise in an undulating landscape. The cropmarks of two small enclosures (diam. c. 10m) defined by single fosse features and placed c. 5m apart E-W. are visible on aerial images (OSAP: 1995). A third feature (ME032-063003-) is located c. 130m to the W, and a fourth (ME032-063004-) is c. 150m to the SSE. First identified by Colin Byrne. Description
Located on a slight S-facing slope. The cropmark of a small enclosure (diam. c. 15m) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on OSI aerial images (1995). The ring-ditches (ME032-043001-; ME032-063002-) are c. 150m and c. 160m distant to the NNW respectively, and ring-ditch (ME032-063003-) is c. 225m to the NW. It was first identified by Stephen Kehoe. Description
Located at the tip of a slight E-W spur. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (int. diam. c. 50m) defined by a distinct fosse (Wth c. 2-5m) is visible only on an OSI aerial image (1995). A second fosse c. 5m inside the outer is visible N-E and what might be a rectangular annexe (dims c. 40m NW-SE; c. 27m E-W) defined by a single fosse is attached at SE. Description
Located on a gentle N-facing slope. The cropmark of a D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 35m E-W; c. 15-17m N-S) defined by a single fosse (Wth c. 1-2m) W-N-E is visible only on Apple Maps (2018). The enclosure springs from an E-W ditch (Wth c. 2m) curving slightly to the N although there is no evidence of this feature S of the E-W road that is just to the S. Description
Located on a rise on a gentle N-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular area (int. diam. c. 45m N-S; c. 40m E-W) defined by a wide fosse (Wth c. 4-5m) is visible only on Apple Maps (2018). The perimeter is slightly truncated by a N-S field bank at W and there may be an entrance (Wth c. 4m) at SW. It was first reported by Jean Charles Caillere. - ME032-092 Enclosure
Description
Situated on a slight N-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m N-S; c. 28m E-W) defined by a single ditch (Wth c. 1-2m) is visible on Apple Maps (2018). The enclosure is cut by two ENE-WSW ditches (Wth c. 1m; c. 3m) that converge further W and are not represented on any map. However, the cropmark of a NW-SE field drain c. 5m to the SW of the enclosure is parallel with the field bank surviving c. 25m to the NE of the enclosure. These two features are the boundaries of a wood depicted on the 1836 and 1908 editions of the OS 6-inch map. The enclosure undoubtedly pre-dates the wood, and it was first reported by Jean Charles Caillere.
