  Description

  Situated on a level landscape. Topsoil stripping (02E0194) in advance of a gas pipeline identified a burnt stone spread (BGE: 1A/16/1) that was completely excavated (02E0691). It consisted of a mound of heat-shattered material in interrupted sections (dims 16m N-S; 5.4m E-W) which overlay a two fulachta fia. At the N end small spreads of burnt material overlay an oval trough (dims 1.7m x 1.1m; max. D 1.1m) which had a small deposit of burnt stone beneath silty clay.   Situated on a level landscape. Topsoil stripping (02E0194) in advance of a gas pipeline identified a burnt stone spread (1A/16/2) that was completely excavated (02E0692). A spread of broken and burnt stone (dims 5m x 2m) overlay a subrectangular pit (dims 1.9m x 0.6m; D 0.25m) filled with a silty humus deposit beneath a redeposit of subsoil, and a subcircular pit (dims 0.87m x 0.78m; D 0.18m) filled with fired material. The fulachta fia (ME038-035----; ME038-035001-) are c. 83m to the E, and the lithic scatter (ME038-037----) is c. 50m to the E.   Description

  Situated on a level landscape between a fulacht fia (ME038-036----) c. 50m to the W and two fulachta fia (ME038-035----; ME038-035001-) c. 40m to the E. Topsoil stripping (02E0194) in advance of a gas pipeline identified a small group of flints on the surface (BGE: 1A/16/4) that was completely excavated (02E1259). A cluster of 466 pieces of knapped flint and chert concentrating in a shallow depression (dims 1.8m N-S; 0.7m E-W; max. D 7cm) were excavated in four spits.
