  Description

  A collection of flint and chert tools with waste have been recovered from a restricted area of plough soil on the summit of Donore Hill. These include end scrapers, side scrapers, round scrapers and thumbscrapers. This area lies immediately east of a semi-circular tree ring and overlooks the Boyne valley to the west (pers comm. This enclosure (int. diam. c. 25-28m) is defined by a fosse (Wth c. 2-3m) which almost touches that of (ME020-090002-) which is immediately to the SE. It was first reported by Anthony Murphy. • ME027-001 Burial
  Description

  Located on the summit of the ENE-WSW Redmountain ridge. In 1935 a cist with an inhumation was discovered c. 1m below the sod in building a water reservoir. It was destroyed before it could be investigated but was described locally as formed of slabs of slate placed upright against the remains, but one end was destroyed and it is not known if the burial was covered in slabs. The extended inhumation was aligned W-E, but there were no grave goods. (Cahill and Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 456-7) Archaeological testing (07E0840) by M. Seaver on the line of a trench extending E from the water-treatment plant produced no related material (excavations.ie 2007:1391). Further archaeological testing (15E0379) by G. McLoughlin just E of the water tanks had a similar result (excavations.ie 2015:116). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). • ME027-105 Cairn - burial cairn
  Description

  Situated on the summit of the NE-SW Redmountion ridge on the S bank of the Boyne River, with a wide view over the Brú na Bóinne passage tombs. It was first identified and recorded by Paul Duffy. This is a grass-covered cairn (diam. c. 20m; H 0.4m at S to 1.8m at N) supporting four hawthorn trees, but the centre has been dug out. It may have had a trig. station (402 feet) which is no longer evident. A possible fragment of a saddle quern was recovered from the monument.   Description

  Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, with gabled porch. Hipped slate roof with render brick chimneystacks. Rubble limestone walls with dressed stone quoins having red walls to porch. Red brick surrounds and limestone sills to window openings. Ranges of red brick and rubble stone outbuildings to the rear, ranged around a central courtyard.

  Description

  Detached single-storey three bay farmhouse, built c.1800. Rendered mud or compacted earth walls. Hipped corrugated metal sheet roof with rendered chimneystack located towards center of roof. Projecting porch with pitched tile roof located centrally to front elevation added at a subsequent date. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Stone and mud outbuildings/dwellings to site. Surrounded by timber picket fence with rubble stone piers of square plan.
