  Description

  Located on the SW-facing slope of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This monument is marked on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793), and it is also depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. 35m) described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Faint traces of a slightly dished and grass-covered circular area (diam. c. 30m) are within a small subrectangular field (dims c. 30-40m NE-SW; c. 40m NW-SE). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).   Description

  Located on the summit at the NW end of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This monument is marked on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793). It is a raised circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 36m WNW-ESE; 33m NNE-SSW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 6-7m; int. H 0.8-1m; ext. H 2.4-3m) and outer fosse (at WNW: Wth of base 1.6m; D 0.5m), but the fosse is very faint NNE-SE. There are entrance gaps at SW (Wth of base 0.9m) and SE (Wth of base 1.4m), both of which could be modern. The interior is bisected by a NNE-SSW field bank and an E-W field bank incorporates the perimeter at S.   Description

  Located towards the top of the SE-facing spine of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. It is depicted as a subcircular embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 35m E-W; c. 30m N-S) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. It is also represented as the SW half of a hachured enclosure on the 1907 edition. It survives as a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims c. 25m NW-SE; c. 10m NE-SW) defined by a slight earthen bank (at SE: Wth 2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1m) SE-S-NW. There is no visible fosse or evidence of the monument NE of a NW-SE field bank.   Description

  Located towards the bottom of the SE-facing spine of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. It is represented as an arc of hachures SE-SW only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. An arc of a grass-covered scarp (at S: Wth 4.5m; ext. H 1.45m) survives SE-SW (Chord c. 27m).
