  Description

  Located towards the S end of a short N-S drumlin ridge. This is a subcircular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 42m NNW-SSE; 35m ENE-WSW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base c. 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2m) NW-N that is reduced to a scarp (at E: H 2.2m) with evidence of an outer stone facing elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of base c. 2.5m; ext. D `c. 0.5m) NW-N that is much reduced N-E. The original entrance is not identified. The monument has become overgrown since 1968 (OSAP). • MO016-013 Crannog
  Description

  Situated at the E angle of a small subrectangular lake (max. dims c. 190m NE-SW; c. 100m NW-SE), c. 25m from the original N and E shores. The lake is now reduced to a small swamp and is known locally as ‘Black Lough’. The crannog is depicted as an island in the lake on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is an overgrown cairn (diam. 15m; H 0.3m) surrounded by drains. No structural features are evident.
