  Description

  Situated on the SE-facing slope of a drumlin. This is depicted as an embanked circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) described as a 'fort' in gothic lettering on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a curve in a field bank E-SW on the 1907 edition. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 29 August 2017
