  Description

  Situated on the spine of low NW-SE ridge in a fairly low-lying landscape. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. A slight curve in a field bank SE-SW (Chord c. 20m) is the only indication of the monument. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).   Description

  Situated at the NW end of a small and relatively low-lying NW-SE drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and there was a NE-SW lane just to its NW.   Description

  Located on a rise at the centre of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. 32.6m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a small earth and stone bank that is best preserved at S (Wth of base 3.2m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.9m) and incorporated into a field bank W-N-E. There is no visible fosse and the original entrance is not identified. There is a subrectangular house site (ext. dims 7.1m NW-SE; 6.6m NE-SW) defined by earthen banks (Wth 1.35m; max. H 0.35m) inside the perimeter at N, with an entrance at the W end of the NW side. This entrance is connected to a gap in the perimeter of the rath at NW by a passage (L 5.3m; Wth 2.5m), which is defined by two earthen banks (Wth 2m; H 0.1-0.3m).   Description

  Located on a rise at the centre of a NW-SE drumlin ridge, and inside the bank of rath (MO027-060001-) at N. This is a subrectangular area (ext. dims 7.1m NW-SE; 6.6m NE-SW) defined by earthen banks (Wth 1.35m; max. H 0.35m), with an entrance at the W end of the NW side. This entrance is connected to a gap in the perimeter of the rath at NW by a passage (L 5.3m; Wth 2.5m), which is defined by two earthen banks (Wth 2m; H 0.1-0.3m).
