Description
Situated on a low rock outcrop on the low-lying floodplains of the river Shannon. A small rectangular church (ext. dims. 6.7m N-S; 13.2m E-W; wall T 0.8m) built with roughly coursed rubble limestone with only E end of S wall surviving and wall footings elsewhere. At the W end of the church are the wall footings of a cross wall indicating possible priests room (ext. dims. 6.7m N-S; 5.2m E-W). No architectural features evident. The church is situated within a roughly square shaped area (33m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by a bank of earth and stones (Wth. 1.5m; ext. H. 0.5m) which is best preserved at N elsewhere it has been reduced to a scarp. There are rows of upright unmarked stones aligned in N/S rows in the S sector of the enclosure. These are the grave-markers of unbaptised children (OF013-007002-) according to the ITA Survey (1942). Description

Description
Unlocated castle within the townland of Raghra (Shannonbridge) that is mentioned in the Ordnance Survey letters (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 181; Loeber 1988, vol. 5, 59-60). The Constabulary Barrracks marked on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map is thought to have been built on the site of or incorporated the remains of Raghra Castle. The Constabulary Barracks has been levelled and replaced by a modern bungalow which served as a Garda Station. The walled perimeter of the Constabulary Barracks may contain cut stone from the levelled castle. Description
Detached seven-bay double-height Catholic church, dated 1965, on a rectangular plan comprising six-bay double-height nave opening into single-bay double-height apse (east) on a half-octagonal plan. Pitched slate roof; half-octagonal slate roof (east), clay ridge tiles with Cross finials to apexes, and cast-aluminium rainwater goods on concrete eaves with cast-aluminium downpipes. Roughcast walls on rendered chamfered plinth. Shouldered curvilinear-headed window openings with concrete sills, and rendered surrounds with hood mouldings framing fixed-pane fittings having stained glass panels. Square-headed window openings (east) with concealed dressings framing fixed-pane fittings having stained glass panels. Pointed-arch door opening (west) with concrete flagged step, rendered surround including block-and-start voussoirs with hood moulding centred on panelled keystone framing diagonal timber boarded double doors. Cusped lancet window opening in tripartite arrangement (gable) with concrete sill, and rendered block-and-start surround framing fixed-pane fittings having stained glass panels. Interior including vestibule (west); square-headed door opening into nave with timber boarded double doors; full-height interior open into roof with choir gallery below stained glass "West Window", central aisle between timber pews, grouped stations between stained glass windows, exposed collared timber roof construction with wind braced rafters to timber boarded ceiling on cornice, and carpeted stepped dais to sanctuary (east) with elliptical-headed chancel arch framing pillared altar. Set in landscaped grounds on a corner site with roughcast boundary wall to perimeter having battlemented coping.

Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, with return to rear. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, terracotta pots, terracotta ridge tiles and cast-iron rainwater goods. Ruled-and-lined render to walls with smooth rendered plinth. Timber sash windows with painted sills. Segmental-headed door opening with moulded stucco surround and timber doorcase with pilasters, panelled door and fanlight.

Description
Terraced two-bay two-storey house, built c.1860, with shopfront and two-storey return and extensions to rear. No longer used as a house. Fronts directly onto street. Pitched slate with terracotta ridge tiles, brick and roughcast rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Ruled-and-lined render to façade. Roughcast render to gable, rear elevation, return and extension. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Timber shopfront with rendered stallrisers, double display windows, timber fascia with ceramic lettering and cornice. Recessed square-headed door opening to pub with timber panelled and glazed door. Recessed square-headed door opening to living accommodation with timber panelled door with overlight. Tiled roof to return with smooth render chimneystack and replacement rainwater goods. Replacement casement windows. Roughcast render to outbuildings with corrugated roof. Rear accessed by wrought-iron gates and smooth rendered gate piers.

Description
Detached three-bay two-storey lock keeper's house, built c.1760, to a design by Thomas Omer. Now used as a tourist office. Fronts east onto street. Pitched slate roof with cement ridge tiles, rendered chimneystacks, terracotta pots and rendered coping. Squared coursed limestone to walls, on rock platform with limestone plinth and string course at first floor level. Round-headed blind recesses to each elevation with limestone keystone and limestone pediments to gable wall. Replacement sash windows with tooled limestone surrounds. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door set in tooled limestone surround with limestone cornice, limestone threshold and accessed by two limestone steps.

Description
Single-span cast-iron twin-leaf swivel bridge, built in 1843, and originally spanning the River Shannon. Relocated to quayside. Designed by the engineer Thomas Rhodes and constructed by J & R Mallet, Founders, Dublin. In two sections, each on a rotating platform mounted on modern stone-clad plinths.
