  Description

  Situated on E facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Circular area (diam 36m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earth and stone bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m) with slight evidence of a shallow external fosse (Wth 2m) and possible outer bank which is severely eroded. No entrance feature visible.   Description

  Situated on a natural shelf on E facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Large circular area (diam 45m E-W) enclosed by two earth and stone banks with intervening fosse (Wth 2.5m; ext. D 0.5m). Inner bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.5m) is best preserved while outer bank is poorly preserved especially at S with possible entrance gap (Wth 2m) at E. Overgrown nature of site made examination of outer bank impossible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
