There is no visible trace of the circular enclosure marked on the 1st edition of the OS map and titled 'Fort' on the Fair Plan. The depiction on the 2nd edition indicates that the SW half of the site had been removed by the late 19th century. It was located on level ground about 50m E of the Meennascarty river and about a half-mile S of Tralee Bay. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 723. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
