Description
Internal diam. 24m N-S, 28m E-W Cloghaunbaun/An Clochán Bán: This roughly circular caher is located on the NW slopes of Caunoge in a boggy area drained by tributaries of the Ferta river. The site is very overgrown and its enclosing wall is quite denuded. A hut occurs in the interior amidst a considerable amount of collapse. The site's enclosing wall, faced on both sides with a rubble core, survives four courses high on average. It measures .9m high externally, .6m high internally and is 2.2m wide. No entrance could be discerned through the collapse and dense vegetation. The hut (KE080-007001-) measures 2.6m x 1.2m internally, and is subrectangular in plan. Externally it is subcircular in outline. Its wall averages 1.1m thick, and is carefully constructed of horizontal courses of thin slabs; it survives to an internal height of 1.25m. The entrance, 1m wide, is located at NE. A large amount of collapse covers its interior. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 622. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013

Description
An ill-defined circular enclosure is marked at this location on the first edition of the OS map. It was located in an area traversed by field boundaries which has since undergone clearance. No surface trace survives. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Description
A circular enclosure is marked at this location on the OS maps. No surface trace of the site remains, but local information recalls a stone-built souterrain passage (KE080-009001-) here which was filled in many years ago. The enclosure was located on a W facing slope. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 695. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013

Description
Internal diam. 26m N-S, 29m E-W Located on top of a hillock, this ruined circular caher commands an impressive view N over the upper reaches of the Ferta river valley and Dingle Bay beyond. The sod-covered enclosing stone wall is very denuded. Its exposed portions reveal a wall consisting of a rubble core faced internally and externally with drystone masonry. There appears to be double facing externally at N and S. The wall has an average thickness of 4.5m and survives to a maximum external height of 1.3m at NW. A gap, 3.4m wide, at E may represent the original entrance. There are the remains a wall chamber in the enclosing element at S. Measuring 3.5m long, .9m wide and .9m deep, it was originally roofed with lintels, only three of which remain in situ. Ua Riain recorded that access was gained from it 'to rooms under the cahir' (KE080-010001-) (1927). There is at present no indication of any such passages, though the chamber's E end is obscured with collapse. Ua Riain also recorded a circular depression near the centre of the site. This is no longer evident. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 623. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013
