Description
This is the record for a burnt mound excavated by Colin D. Gracie (97E303) on the Arklow bypass scheme. A horseshoe-shaped spread of burnt material (diam. 5–6m) was excavated but no trace of a hearth or trough was found. The only find was a flint flake from the surface of the burnt spread. Description
This is the record for the shallow pits excavated by Brendán Ó Riordáin (97E0083) on the Arklow bypass road scheme. The shallow depressions were filled with a mixture of ash, charcoal and soil and two of them contained large quantities of shards of pottery identified as Neolithic in date.
