Description
On a slight rise in a low-lying position in an area recently cleared of hazel scrub. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular area (int. diam. 29m NNE-SSW; 26.7m WNW-ESE) defined by a crushed stone spread (Wth 5.4-7.8m; int. H 0.4-0.5m; ext. H 0.4-1m). No facing stones or entrance is visible. Description
At the crest of an E-facing slope in a field of reclaimed pasture. Listed as 'Burial Ground' in the RMP (1996). A rectangular grass-covered stoney area defined by scarps (dims. at top of scarp 18.3m E-W; 14.5m N-S; dims. at base 19.8m E-W; 16.1m N-S; H 0.2-0.3m) with some stones protruding through it. Description
Situated on a slight rise. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). Indicated as a circular feature (diam. c. 30m) on the 1842 and 1921 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. A subrectangular overgrown area (18m E-W internally; 26.5m externally) with a straight W side (L 14m) defined by a flat-topped stone spread (at W: Wth of base 3m; Wth of top 2.1m; int. H 0.5m; ext. Situated in an undulating area in pasture. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular overgrown area (int. diam. c. 20m) defined by a stone spread (at S: Wth 4.5m; H 1m) with the outer face intact (at S: H 1.2m) over most of the perimeter. Description
Situated on a rise in pasture. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular grass and scrub-covered area (int. diam. 25.1m E-W; 24.4m N-S) defined by a hazel-covered stone spread (Wth 3.5-4.6m; int. H 0.5m generally to 1.3m at E; ext. H 0.6-0.8m W-N to 1.4-1.6m E-S), with the outer face visible almost everywhere (original Wth 1.6m at N). There is an entrance gap (Wth 1m) at E, but it is not original. Description
Situated in a forested area in undulating landscape. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A subcircular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 32.15m E-W; 29.3m N-S) defined by the remnants of a stone spread (Wth 4-5m; H 0.3-0.7m) with outer facing stones intermittenly visible and a drystone wall on the perimeter NW-N. - CL033-031003 Ringfort - cashel
Description
Conjoined to the E of a cashel (CL033-031----) and at a slightly lower level in a forested area. Not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. A circular grass and scrub-covered area (int. diam. 19.6m E-W; 17.5m N-S) defined by a slight scarp down to the interior (H 0.9m) W-E, and a slight external scarp (H 0.8m at E) elsewhere. The remains of a drystone wall are on the perimeter NW-SE, and stone spreads visible elsewhere. The original width of the wall can be guaged at NNE (Wth 1.4m) and S (Wth 1.8m), and there are animal tracks over the perimeter at NNE and SE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 May 2016
