Description
Located in the valley of a small E-W stream, c. 20m N of the stream and c. 140m from where it meets the N-S Colligan River. According to Power (1952, 142) Diarmaid liath - Grey Dermot - was the name of a standing stone at Coolnaspear, and it is known locally that a stone was removed from here. Power, Rev. P. Description
Marked as a small circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25-30m) on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture at the N edge of a plateau overlooking the Glendermot river valley. It is not known locally as the site of an antiquity, and is not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Description
Marked as a limekiln on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and on the OS 25-inch map. It is marked as a small D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 44m N-S; c. 30m E-W) with a straight N-S field bank at E on the 1927 ed. Situated in pasture on a gentle W-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level, but was certainly a lime-kiln. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
