  Description

  Harbour pier, dated 1832, on a cranked L-shaped plan. Coursed squared limestone walls with swept batter to south, cut-stone date stone/plaque, flights of cut-stone steps to water level to north, cut-stone mooring bollards to coping, and sections of rubble stone cobbling over. Sited extending into Dungarvan Harbour.

  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey rubble stone national school, dated 1885, with single-bay single-storey gabled projecting lower porch to left. Refenestrated and extended, c.1985, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-roofed lower return to south. Now disused. Pitched slate roof (gabled to porch) with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods on exposed timber eaves. Flat corrugated-iron roof to return with timber eaves. Random rubble stone walls with cut-stone date stone/plaque, and unpainted roughcast lime render to side (east) elevation. Exposed concrete block construction to return. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and red brick block-and-start surrounds. Replacement timber casement windows, c.1985. Square-headed door opening with red brick block-and-start surround, and tongue-and-groove timber panelled door. Set back from line of road in own grounds with sections of random rubble stone boundary wall to front having rubble stone vertical coping, pair of tooled limestone ashlar piers, and wrought iron gate.

  Detached four-bay single-storey local authority house, c.1925, retaining some original fenestration with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch, and two-bay single-storey lean-to lower return to north. Extended, c.1975, comprising two-bay single-storey flat-roofed return to north-east. Part refenestrated, c.2000. Hipped slate roof (continuing into lean-to to return) with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Flat concrete roof to porch. Flat bitumen felt roof to return with timber eaves. Painted roughcast walls with rendered quoins to corners. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and rendered surrounds to front (south-west) elevation. 1/1 timber sash windows with some replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber panelled door, c.1975. Set back from road in own grounds with unpainted roughcast lime rendered boundary wall to perimeter of site.

  Detached four-bay single-storey thatched cottage, c.1810, retaining some early fenestration. Renovated, c.1935, with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch added. Extensively renovated and extended, c.1985, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-roofed return to west. Hipped roof with replacement reed thatch, c.1985, in English style having rope work to ridge, and rendered squat chimney stack. Flat concrete roof to porch. Flat felt roof to return with timber eaves. Painted roughcast walls with rendered quoined piers to corners, and rendered strips to corners to porch. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and rendered surrounds. Replacement timber casement windows, c.1985, retaining some early 1/1 timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with replacement glazed uPVC panelled door, c.2000. Set in own grounds perpendicular to road with forecourt, and side (south) elevation fronting on to road.(ii) Detached three-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1860, to north-east with two-bay single-storey flat-roofed end bay to west. Reroofed, c.1985. Pitched roof with painted replacement corrugated-iron, c.1985, corrugated-Perspex panels (forming skylights), iron ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods. Flat roof to end bay behind parapet. Painted roughcast walls. Square-headed door openings with painted replacement corrugated-iron doors, c.1985.

  Description

  Freestanding single-bay two-stage lighthouse, built 1858, on a circular plan. Limewashed tuck pointed granite ashlar battered walls on cut-granite chamfered plinth with cantilevered walkway on "Cavetto"-detailed beaded corbels supporting cast iron railings centred on lantern on granite ashlar battered base. Square-headed door opening with cut-granite step threshold, and "bas-relief" block-and-start surround framing timber panelled door. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and "bas-relief" block-and-start surrounds framing eight-over-eight timber sash windows. Interior retaining cut-granite spiral staircase with wrought iron balusters supporting wrought iron banister. Set on headland.

  Detached single-bay single-storey gable-fronted rubble stone boathouse, c.1860, with segmental-headed carriageway, and single-bay single-storey side elevations. Renovated, c.1985, with openings remodelled, and square-headed carriageway inserted to rear (east) elevation. Now disused. Pitched (gable-fronted) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods on exposed timber eaves. Random rubble limestone walls with tooled squared limestone quoins to corners. Segmental-headed window openings with stone sills, and tooled limestone ashlar voussoirs. Now blocked-up. Segmental-headed carriageway with tooled limestone ashlar voussoirs. Now blocked-up. Square-headed carriageway inserted, c.1985, to rear (east) elevation with timber boarded double doors. Set back from line of road.

  Detached three-bay single-storey lighthouse keeper's house with dormer attic, built 1858, on a rectangular plan. Renovated, ----. Replacement pitched artificial slate roof with ridge tiles, iron-covered cut-granite coping to gables with granite ashlar chimney stacks to apexes on cut-granite cushion courses on granite ashlar bases having cut-granite stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta pots, central rooflight to front (south) pitch, and cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-granite thumbnail beaded consoles retaining cast-iron downpipes. Tuck pointed coursed or snecked limestone walls on cut-granite chamfered plinth. Square-headed central door opening with cut-granite step threshold, and yellow brick block-and-start surround framing replacement glazed aluminium door. Square-headed flanking window openings with cut-granite sills, and yellow brick block-and-start surrounds framing replacement aluminium casement windows. Set on headland in grounds shared with Ballynacourty Point Lighthouse.
