Description
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) only on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture towards the top of a SE-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level. Description
Situated towards the top of a SE-facing slope. Circular scrub-covered area (diam. 34m NE-SW; 32.5m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.4m at SW (downslope) to 1.1m at NE; ext. H 0.8m at SW to 1.2m at NE), which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.8m) E-S, and an outer flat-bottomed fosse best preserved W-E (Wth of top 4.3-5.5m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.6-1m). There is no visible entrance. A souterrain site (WA031-003002-) is in the interior. The possible ringfort (WA031-002----) is c. 70m to the N. Description
Situated within rath (WA031-003001-). This is Z-shaped sunken area (Wth 2.7-3m; D 0.6-0.8m) extending from the bank at S to the centre of the rath (L of sections from S: 3.5m; 4.55m; 4.2m; 5m). Description
Located at the crest of the S-facing slope of a NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 27m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.3m at N to 1.8m at S (downslope)) NNW-ENE and SSE-WSW, a curved stone field wall WSW-NNW and a scarp at E. There is no visible fosse or entrance. It is conjoined with, but later than, rath (WA031-004002-), which is immediately to the E. Located at the crest of the S-facing slope of a NW-SE ridge. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 37m NW-SE; 31m NE-SW) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.7-1m; ext. H 1.2-1.8m), with a fosse (at NE: Wth of top 4.7m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.2m) NE-S. The interior is infringed by the scarp of a rath (WA031-004001-) W-NNW. There is no visible entrance. Description
Marked as a small circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as an irregularly shaped hachured area (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1927 ed. Situated in pasture on a SW-facing slope towards the head of a NW-SE valley. Fields in the area have been reclaimed but a rectangular alcove (dims. 22m N-S; 12m E-W), defined by stone-faced field banks (H 1-1.8m) and open at E, is still preserved.
