Description
Situated on a steep S-facing slope. Described as ‘St. Brigid’s Well’ on the 1840 and 1927 eds of the OS 6-inch map. A small well (dims. c. 0.6m x 0.6m) is now covered in, and provides water to local houses. It was venerated in the 19th century (OS Name Books), but there is no eividence of veneration and it is not now regarded locally as holy. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Detached four-bay single-storey thatched farmhouse, extant 1841, on a rectangular plan with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed advanced porch. Hipped or hipped gabled water reed thatch roof with exposed lattice stretchers to raised ridge having exposed scallops, rendered dwarf chimney stack (east), and blind stretchers to eaves having blind scallops. Rendered battered walls. Square-headed door opening. Square-headed window openings with rendered near-flush sills, and concealed dressings framing one-over-one timber sash windows. Set in own grounds with rendered piers to perimeter having segmental capping supporting flat iron-braced "farm gate".

Rendered battered walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows having exposed sash boxes. Set in own grounds with roughcast piers to perimeter having precast concrete chamfered capping supporting wrought iron-detailed double gates.

Set perpendicular to lane with rendered piers to perimeter having precast concrete segmental capping.
