Description
On wet flat pasture, 105m SE of the Morningstar River that forms townland boundary with Carrigeen. Enclosures (LI031-195/184----) lie 26m to SW and 20m to NW respectively. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 51.02: AP 4/2061) as a circular-shaped enclosure. Faint trace of circular cropmark visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/09/2020. Description
On wet flat pasture 30m SE of the Morningstar River and the townland boundary with Carrigeen. Enclosure (LI031-116----) located 30m to SE. Not depicted on historic OSi maps, nor is it visible on the OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 and not visible on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 51: AP 4/2061) as circular enclosure abutting a field boundary on its E side (ext. dims. c. 35m). The enclosure is not depicted on historic OSi maps. It is faintly visible on the OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 but not on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 54: AP 5/2060) as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 20m). Possible monument identified as a potential site of a circular enclosure defined by a soil stain or cropmark visible on aerial photographs (BGE 1/50000 50) taken 11/09/1982 as part of Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline. No surface remains visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. Not visible on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Google Earth orthoimages. Description
Range of multiple-bay two-storey outbuildings of former Camas House, built c. 1820. Camas House demolished. Half-hipped slate roofs with red brick chimneystacks. Roughly dressed limestone walls with dressed quoins. Square-headed openings having red brick copings. Two-storey three-bay former coach house to north of outbuildings. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystack. Roughly dressed limestone walls with cut limestone stringcourse to gable. Camber-headed openings to first floor with red brick voussoirs and stone sills. Camber-headed openings to ground floor with cut limestone voussoirs. Segmental-arched opening to gable with dressed limestone voussoirs. Single-arch bridge to north-west of site. Segmental arch with dressed limestone walls and cut limestone stringcourse. Rock-faced parapet walls with carved limestone plaque to west parapet. Two single-arch bridges to north-east of site. One having segmental arch with roughly dressed walls and cut voussoirs having prominent keystone. Side elevations of second bridge not visible. Rock-faced parapet walls terminating in square-profile piers with wrought-iron gate to carriageway.
