  Description

  In level pasture at base of W facing slope on the demesne lands of Elm Park House located 80m to NNE. No surface remains visible. This is the most northerly of three enclosures (LI012-049-/050----) forming a line running NW-SE for a distance of c. 293m. The two enclosures (LI012-049-/050----) lie 92m and 270m to SE respectively. Monument indicated on the 1897 OS 25-inch map as a circular-shaped sunken area (approx. ext. diam. 21m) defined by a ditch (approx. Wth 6m) with tree in centre of earthwork. Outline of depression visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 06/02/2018 which has been incorporated into a field boundary at N.   Description

  In pasture on slight W facing slope, on the demesne lands of Elm Park House located 130m to N. No surface remains visible. This is the central monument of three earthworks or designed landscape features (LI012-047----, LI012-50----) forming a line running NW-SE for a distance of c. 293m. Possible designed landscape feature (LI012-047----) lies 92m to NW and a second landscape feature (LI012-050---) 166m to SE. Depicted on the 1897 OS 25-inch map as a small circular mound (approx. diam. 8m) enclosed by a ditch (approx. Wth 6m) which suggests a possible barrow classification. Levelled monument not visible on Digital Globe taken 2011-13. Possible designed landscape feature or possibly the remains of a small prehistoric barrow.   Description

  In pasture on slight W facing slope, on the demesne lands of Elm Park House located 290m to NNW. No surface remains visible. This is the most southerly of three earthworks (LI012-047-/049----) forming a line running NW-SE for a distance of c. 293m. The two earthworks(LI012-047-/049----) lie 270m and 166m to the NW respectively. Depicted as a a small grove of trees on 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map. Depicted on the 1897 OS 25-inch map 72m W of burial ground (private), as a circular sunken area (approx. int. diam. 10m) enclosed by a ditch (approx. Wth 5m) with tree planted interior. Not visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019. Possible designed landscape feature that has been levelled.   Description

  In pasture on slight W facing slope, 300m SW of the Barnakyle River, 200m NW of Elmpark House. No surface remains visible. Potential monument identified from examination of 1:10k OSi aerial photographs (OS5 740; Nr 0686) where the outline of an enclosure was identified. This earthwork is not indicated on the 1840 OS 6-inch map or subsequent OS maps. Outline of a circular-shaped area defined by a bank (approx. overall dims. 70m N-S, 62mE-W) with trace of bank running NE from E and possible rectangular annexe/enclosure to the immediate W visible on Digital Globe orthophoto taken 2011-2013. Traces of a second smaller enclosure or possible barrow (LI012-163----) 100m to the NW. Outline of monument clearly visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken between 2009/2019. • LI012-149 Standing stone
  Description

  In pasture within the former grounds of Elmpark Demesne, 175m S of Barnakyle River that marks the townland boundary with Doon. Not depicted on either the 1840 0S 6-inch map or the 1897 25-inch OS map. Identified by Paul O’Keeffe, Mid-West National Road Design Office when it was described as following; ‘Found on foot of landowner submission regarding the proposed Foynes to Limerick Road Scheme. A limestone upright a little over a metre high' (pers. comm. P. O’Keeffe, 2015). Visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019 with traces of relic field boundaries to N and W.   Description

  In lowlying pasture, 170m SE of the Barnakyle River, 200m N of Elmpark House and 100m WNW of barrow (LI012-100----). This earthwork is not indicated on the 1840 OS 6-inch map or subsequent OS maps. The outline of a circular-shaped area (approx. dims. 30m N-S, 27m E-W) defined by a bank is clearly visible on both Digital Globe aerial photos taken 2011-2013 and Global Earth orthoimages taken in 2009 and 2018. Traces of a bank running NW-SE 7m to the N is also visible on these images.   Description

  Detached two-bay single-storey former forge, built c. 1850. Pitched artificial slate roof with terracotta ridge crestings, brick chimneystack and render copings. Snecked limestone walls. Square-headed window opening having limestone sill and double-leaf timber battened shutters. Square-headed opening with timber battened door. Rubble limestone boundary walls, curved to north. Single-leaf cast-iron pedestrian gate to south boundary wall.
