  Description

  In pasture, at N edge of break in N-facing hill slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 30.5m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earth-and-stone banks with intervening fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 2m). Inner bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.55m), best preserved along SE arc, has boulders dumped along top at ENE. Outer bank (ext. H 0.6m) survives SW->NE, and is incorporated into field boundary system SW->NW. Breaks in inner (Wth 3.6m) and outer (Wth 1m) banks at NNE. Fosse, best preserved and waterlogged SW->N, can only be tentatively traced SE->SW. Interior, under pasture, slopes down to W.   Description

  In level pasture. Circular area (diam. 34m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank with external fosse (Wth 1.3m; D 0.25m); both are heavily masked by vegetation overgrowth. Bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.6m), worn down by cattle along NW arc, is incorporated into field boundary system SE->SW. Interior, covered with nettles, slopes down very gently to E.   Description

  In orchard, on very gentle N-facing slope. Oval area (29m N-S; 24.5m E-W) defined by scarped edge NNE->SSW, with external fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.2m) ESE->S; enclosing element clipped by public road SSW->NW. Scarp (H 0.65m; Wth 4.8m), best preserved NNE->E, dips at SE. Enclosure is bounded by concrete garden wall NW->NNE. There is remains of dry-stone facing on scarp at NNE.   Description

  Detached five-bay three-storey over basement house, built c. 1770, having half-hexagon bow of full height to front (east) elevation, bow bay windows to north and south elevations, single-storey lean-to to south elevation, three-bay single-storey extension and three-bay two-storey addition to rear (west) elevation. Hipped slate roof with render eaves course and render over red brick chimneystacks. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed openings to second floor with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows and limestone sills. Square-headed openings to first and ground floors having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows and limestone sills. Square-headed openings to bow bays with six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows and limestone sills. Round-headed opening to breakfront having cut limestone surround, with keystone, imposts and Y-tracery fanlight over timber panelled door. Limestone threshold and steps to entrance. Four-bay three-storey outbuilding to north-west. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystack. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having limestone sills. Square-headed door openings. Seven-bay two-storey outbuilding to south-west having seven-bay lean-to to south elevation. Pitched corrugated-iron roof and render over brick bellcotes. Single-pitched corrugated-iron roof to lean-to. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with carved limestone heraldic date plaque. Square-headed window openings having limestone sills. Square-headed openings with timber battened doors. Elliptical-headed carriage arch to centre-bay. Round-headed arched openings to lean-to with brick voussoirs.

  Description

  Detached four-bay single-storey house, built c. 1840. Pitched slate roof with render copings and red brick chimneystacks. Rendered walls. Square-headed openings with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows and painted stone sill. Square-headed opening to end-bay having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window and painted stone sill. Square-headed opening having replacement timber battened door. Pair of round-profile rubble limestone piers to north-east with single-leaf corrugated-iron gate. Rubble limestone boundary walls.
